RRSV Clinical Research Platform

The RRSV Clinical Research Platform is dedicated to the in-depth study of eye diseases, with the goal of improving the quality of care for patients. Led by recognized experts such as Ellen Freeman and ophthalmologist-epidemiologists such as Marie-Josée Aubin, Gisèle Li and Hélène Boisjoly, this platform conducts innovative research. Currently, Drs. Freeman and Boisjoly are working on a prospective cohort study that explores mobility and the health impacts of eye diseases, seeking to design beneficial interventions for those who suffer from them. In parallel, Dr. Li is working to understand the factors contributing to the progression of glaucoma, while Drs. Boisjoly, Aubin and Gresset are analyzing wait times for various eye procedures in order to optimize the care system. By bringing together unparalleled expertise in clinical vision research in Canada, the platform also aims to create statistical tools to encourage ophthalmologists to become more involved in research.
