SPEAKERS

Dr. Sylvain Chemtob, MD, FRCPC, FAAP, PhD (web page), is a full professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, and Pharmacology at the University of Montreal and an associate professor in the Department of Pharmacology at McGill University. He is also a member of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. He holds the Canada Research Chairs in Translational Vision Research Chair and the Léopoldine A. Wolfe Chair in Clinical and Translational Research in the Prevention of Age-Related Macular Degeneration at the University of Montreal. During his presentation, Dr. Chemtob will provide an overview of emerging drug therapies for AMD, address new perspectives and the need for further research to refine earlier diagnosis. Come and benefit from his expertise, meet him and exchange ideas with him!

Testimonial: Sylvie Castonguay is the executive director of the Quebec Association for Macular Degeneration. She herself has had the dry form of this disease since 2021. Before heading the AQDM, she held management positions in public relations and partnership development in the business services sector, the non-profit sector, and the health sector. She has also stood up many causes as chair of boards of directors. Having experienced this within several groups, she knows that mutual aid and mobilization can achieve great things, even with limited resources.
