Dr. Sylvain Chemtob: RSC new Fellow
The Network is pleased to announce that Dr. Sylvain Chemtob (Sainte-Justine Hospital Research Centre, Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont Research Center – Université de Montréal) has been inducted into the prestigious Royal Society of Canada (RSC). An internationally renowned clinical researcher, Dr. Chemtob studies the pathogenesis of retinopathy and ischemic encephalopathy in children. He has also made numerous discoveries, including the identification of several mechanisms with direct impact to the clinic to improve patient outcome.
To mark this event, a « Celebration of Excellence and Engagement » ceremony will be held on November 25 in Calgary, Alberta.
The RSC is composed of more than 2,000 outstanding Canadian scholars, artists and scientists elected by their peers among three Academies: Academy of Arts and Humanities; the Academy of Social Sciences; and the Academy of Science. The RSC recognizes outstanding achievement in advancing knowledge, understanding and reflection for the benefit of Canada and the World.
