TEDx UMontreal
When ? Saturday, May 15th 2021
Time: 13h00 to 16h30
The University of Montreal (UdeM) is very proud to present its 2nd edition of TEDxUMontréal on the theme of vision in all its forms.
About this event
Organized by the Department of Ophthalmology of the Faculty of Medicine and the University of Montreal Alumni and Donor Network, this completely virtual edition of TEDxUMontréal will feature 8 videoconferences with an impressive panel of guests.
Vision: we can give several definitions to this word. First, the very Cartesian « function by which the images captured by the eye are transmitted by the optical pathways (retinal and ganglion cells, optic nerve, optic chiasm) to the brain » or the more figurative, or a « way of seeing , to conceive, to understand something complex ”.
Ophthalmology: essential to our health: This meeting will highlight research work in ophthalmology and vision sciences, made possible through scholarships, chairs and scholarship funds, funded by generous donors.
For a … broader vision: Still under the theme of vision, but under its more figurative definition, our speakers will address the repercussions of climate change on health, privacy in the digital age, as well as the pharmaceutical industry and veterinary care.
Speakers
May Griffith, Cynthia Qian and Santiago Costantino are VHRN Regular Members.
